Choose the T2B Comfort Blanket Program
This program has been created to provide cancer patients a warm, cozy and decorative blanket to comfort them while in the hospital. A group of local volunteers donate their time to hand make these fleece blankets under the direction of Denise Barlow.  These blankets are distributed to the Paediatric Oncology Satellite Unit, Windsor Regional Malden Park Long Term Palliative Care Unit and Windsor Regional’s Oncology Unit.

The cost per blanket is approximately $30.00.

Choose the T2B Slushie Machine
The slushie machine is a new addition to the T2B Paediatric Oncology Satellite Nutrition Room. Often children are in the unit receiving treatment for hours on end.   One of the most amusing items on the unit that help pass the time is our T2B slushie machine opened 24 hours for the kids to enjoy at anytime.  The Nutrition Room is opened throughout the day and night for families who are staying over night in the T2B Isolation Rooms as well.  The Slushie machine cost approximately $2000.00 to run yearly.

Choose T2B Comfort Cart
With a desire to provide more for patients and their families during their stay at the hospital, T2B runs a comfort food cart 4 days a week at the Met Campus of Windsor Regional Hospital, and 3 days a week at the Western Campus.  The comfort food cart if filled with nourishing refreshments, delicious fruit, yogurt and desserts for the patients and families to enjoy and share.  The cost to run the T2B Comfort Cart at both campuses is approximately $10,000.00 per year.

Today you can choose to buy a juice or fruit cup for $2 for a patient and their family members. All donations $20 or over do receive tax receipts. Choose T2b Medical Puppets
T2B completed the refurbishment of Windsor’s 1st Paediatric Oncology Satellite Unit at Windsor Regional Hospital in 2005. As each year goes by, T2B works closely with the team of Child Life Workers on the unit to create new programs for the kids and their families while at the hospital.  Each year T2B meets with the hospitals Child Life Workers to decide what ways we can assist the unit and patients. This year they put forth a request for a new custom made patient teaching puppet.

The puppets are used on the floor to prepare patients for procedures and allow them to do medical play. The puppets are made to order with special adaptations for medical play. T2B will be sponsoring a doll that is custom made for Oncology medical play (port access, spine for LPs, veins for blood work, hair that can be removed, etc.) that will be only for oncology patients. The cost for the patient puppet is $1000.00.

Choose T2b Medical Teaching Books
After the refurbishment of the T2B Paediatric Oncology Satellite Unit in 2005 we began to learn of new programs and immediate needs that parents, family members and Paediatric patients needed.  One need that has been told to T2B from the team of Child Life Workers on the unit is the need for Medical Teaching Books.  These books are used to help with parts of treatment or adjusting to new events (i.e. loss of hair), as well as to provide some comfort and reassurance. Medical teaching books are also valuable for preparation for specific procedures that children go through such as MRIs, LPs, Port Access, etc. Each book cost approximately $15.00. Choose T2b Movies for Kids
With your support in 2005 T2B refurbished the Paediatric Oncology Satellite Unit and were able to place T.V.’s in each Paediatric Oncology Room. This allowed a form of entertainment for patients and families while waiting for the doctor, having treatment during the day, or when staying overnight in one of the isolation rooms. Having the unit stocked with the latest movie hit keeps the kids entertained, and at appropriate times also distracts them when procedures are taking place. The cost of a DVD is approximately $25 each.

With your support in 2005 T2B refurbished the Paediatric Oncology Satellite Unit and we were able to place Wii Stations throughout the Outpatient Oncology Unit.   Adding these small entities to the unit for the kids, truly make the time pass by as well as make it a little fun to be at the hospital.  T2B is asked each year by the unit to replace the Wii games with more current games for the kids to enjoy.  Each Wii game cost approximately $40 per game.

Choose a Legacy
In December of 2008, T2B under the leadership of Architectural Design and Associates (ADA) and STC Construction completed the refurbishment of the first room at the Windsor Regional Hospital Oncology Unit, Met Campus.  T2B moves forward with our local partners to refurbish the entire unit. We are looking for your support in funding these rooms.

When pledging a room you receive the opportunity to leave a legacy in your family name, corporation name or in honour of a loved one.  You can make a 5 year pledge ($5,000 per year) allowing you to fundraise each year until the room has been paid for, or you can make a one time payment of $20,000.00.

Choose a T.V. for Oncology Rooms
T2B has gone back to our original project of refurbishing the Oncology Unit at Windsor Regional Hospital.  After 12 years since the first room was complete in 1997, T2B has revisited the unit and have begun updating the entire it with warm wooden flooring, beautiful handcrafted millwork and calming new paint colors. In addition to the facelift of the unit, T2B has begun installing new flat screen TV’s in each room on the Oncology Unit of Windsor Regional Hospital. Not only does the flat screen look give the rooms a clean and organized appearance, the flat screen has created more room for patients and families to move around within the rooms. Today you can choose to sponsor a new TV for these patients and families to enjoy during their stay at the hospital for $1,700.00.

Choose T2B Art Therapy
Often Children are unable to effectively identify and express their feelings verbally.  Art Therapy gives children a voice to connect with a therapist and chare their feelings and thoughts. Least year T2B provided the pilot funding for individual art therapy sessions to Paediatric Oncology Patients that were in need of a therapeutic and expressive outlet. The program was a great success, and T2B is moving forward this year with the necessary funding needed for the Art Therapist and supplies. The cost to run the T2B Art Therapy Program for one year is $5,500.00. This cost includes art supplies such as easels, paint, paper, canvas, modeling materials, glue, scissors, disposable cameras & developing, t-shirts, etc. Also this cost includes a registered Art Therapist fee to work hands on with the patients.
