Back the Pack

Category: Paediatric
Location: Windsor Regional Hospital
Sponsor: The Stephanie and Barry Zekelman Foundation

Program Overview

Every child entering the Paediatric Oncology Program receives a brand-new backpack filled with age-appropriate educational toys and comfort items, thoughtfully selected just for them. These backpacks become the child’s personal companion throughout treatment — offering familiarity, ownership, and comfort during long hospital stays and repeated visits.

Backpacks are replenished annually to ensure children continue receiving fresh, safe, and meaningful items. This program was lovingly envisioned by Stephanie Zekelman and remains a cornerstone of paediatric comfort at T2B.
