Paediatric Medical Teaching Supplies

Games, Books and Movies

After the refurbishment of the T2B Paediatric Oncology Satellite Unit in 2006, T2B began to learn of new and immediate needs among parents, family members, and paediatric patients. One of these needs included medical teaching puppets and books, which help staff engage children by explaining parts of treatment or supporting them through new experiences, such as hair loss, while providing comfort and reassurance.

These medical teaching resources are also valuable in preparing children for specific procedures such as MRIs, lumbar punctures, and port access. In addition, items such as board games, movies, PlayStation and Xbox games, and art supplies require regular replenishment for infection control and to ensure children have access to updated, comforting activities during their hospital stay.
