Room Refurbishments was T2B’s first program and reflects the organization’s commitment to creating comfortable, welcoming hospital environments for patients and their families. This capital campaign supports oncology and palliative patients through comfort-focused design, incorporating warm colours, wood trim, specialty flooring, family seating, appliances, flat-screen televisions, refrigerators, and complimentary television services to bring familiar elements of home into patient rooms.
All rooms within the Adult Oncology Unit and the T2B Paediatric Oncology Satellite Unit at Windsor Regional Hospital’s Metropolitan Campus have been fully refurbished, and in 2013, T2B completed the reconstruction of the T2B Palliative Care Unit, The Stephanie and Barry Zekelman Wing at Hotel Dieu Grace Healthcare. T2B continues to refurbish rooms at Windsor Regional Hospital’s Ouellette Campus, improving dignity, comfort, and family presence during care.
