Transition to Betterness | T2B is 'Calling for Action and Needs Your Help'

Transition to Betterness (T2B) is excited to have announced the opening of the recently reconstructed “Stephanie & Barry Zekelman Wing in the new T2B Supportive Care Unit”, at the Dr. Y. Emara Centre for the Healthy Aging and Mobility located at the Tayfour Campus. The unit began servicing palliative patients within Windsor Essex as of September 30^th, 2013. The transformed hospital unit encompasses; 18 newly refurbished rooms, family waiting lounge, family kitchen, inspiration murals throughout the spacious and decorative hallways, and a welcoming nurse’s station to complete the 5 star hotel feel of the unit. T2B is also expanding its Comfort Food Cart, Comfort Blanket, Music Therapy and Concierge Program within the new unit at the Tayfour Campus.

T2B will continue through the fall of the 2014 to fundraise for their Capital Campaign “From Rooms to Wings” which is a $1.4 million dollar pledge made towards the hospital to complete the funding for this unit and program expansions. T2B is seeking new volunteers to help assist with their ongoing programs on the new “T2B Supportive Care Unit”. We are searching for compassionate individuals who are 16 years or older to help run our Comfort Food Cart and Concierge Desk which helps with day to day needs for the families of loved ones being serviced within the unit. We are asking our community members, friends, donors and beneficiaries of our programs to help us answer this call to action for needed volunteers to help facilitate our programs. The amount of volunteer time that you are able to designate can be decided by you. Regardless if you can volunteer once a week or once a month, we invite all individuals who would like to join the T2B family in providing comfort and compassion to members of our community.
